The Tablet preferences now contains two thresholds which require some
explaination.
Using the two thresholds, you can set up the tablet so that you can draw
with a light touch while still requiring a much harder press to activate
gadgets.
Pressure Threshold
This is the pressure required to start freehand drawing in OpalPaint. The
pressure range will be scaled linearly above this threshold, so you will
not experience a jump in pressure when you start drawing, but you should
make this threshold as small as possible to give you a large range of
pressures to work with.
For example if you are using a wacom tablet which has 64 levels of pressure,
and set the threshold to 10, the physical pressure values (i.e. as reported
by the tablet) below 10 will generate a 0 pressure level to OpalPaint. The
pressure values from 10 to 64 will be scaled to a range of 0 to 64 for use
in OpalPaint.
The pressure values generated by the tablet will vary form tablet to tablet,
you may find that some wacom tablets return a value as high as 4 or 5
for pressure when the stylus is not touching the tablet surface. If you
find that OpalPaint is drawing when you are applying no pressure, you will
need to increase this threshold.
Click Threshold
This is the amount of pressure required to generate a left or right mouse
button click. This value must be greater than or equal to the pressure
threshold.
